Steps:
1. Remove the wire from both edges of the ribbon. This is easily done by pulling on an exposed end of the wire.
2. To emboss the velvet: Lightly mist the wrong side of the velvet ribbon. Place the stamp image rubber side up on your work surface or ironing board. Lay the ribbon right side down against the stamp image. Now press the iron (set on high or cotton) to the fabric and press down. Count to twenty and lift iron up carefully. If there is any dampness press again, but never touch or move fabric. Hold the iron over the entire stamp surface and avoid letting the steam holes hit the design areas. They will make an impression as well. To avoid this you can place a press cloth or even tin foil or paper where steam holes might interfere with the design.
3. Turn each raw end of the ribbon up 1/2" and then 1/2" again. Secure this hem to the scarf with a strip of 1/4" Red Line double stick tape.
4. Apply another strip of double stick tape to the beaded trim pieces and attach the trim to the hems, on the back side of the scarf. |
