Materials:
Hot Potatoes Holiday rubber stamps
Jacquard fabric paint
1" foam brushes
(1) yard light weight canvas ( or a pre-made canvas tree skirt available at many craft stores)
(5) yards matching double edged bias tape - 1/4"
Matching thread

Instructions:

1. Cut a 36" square from the canvas. Fold the canvas in half, and then in half again.
2. Holding a string at center point, attach tailor’s chalk or pencil and mark a cutting line for the round skirt. Make this circle as full as possible.
3. Cut a quarter circle out 4 inches from the center for the tree trunk.
4. Unfold the canvas and cut a straight line along one of the folds from the center hole to the edge of the canvas skirt.
5. Finish the edges by covering them with bias tape and sewing.
6. Finish the inside circle with bias tape also, extending the tape on both ends by 12". This is used to tie the skirt toegether.
7. Begin stamping the tree skirt. Using a foam brush, paint the stamps with fabric paint. Then press stamp to fabric, being sure to press down hard. See complete fabric stamping instructions and tips.
8. Refer to the photo for placement of stamped images or make up your own design! (We made the red dotted edging by using a pencil eraser brushed with fabric paint.)
