Velvet Tree Skirt
Materials:
1 yard burgundy acetate/rayon velvet
Hot Potatoes rubber stamp - T088 Poinsettia
3 yards of 6" bullion fringe
Red Line doublestick tape - 1/4" wide
5 buttons
This skirt was make from one yard of burgundy velvet. Fold the piece of velvet in half and then in half again. Use a string to mark a cutting line for a round skirt. Utilize as much fabric as possible. Cut a quarter circle out 4 inches from the center for the tree trunk. Then cut a line from center hole to edge. Repeat for lining. Emboss fabric. Use Res-Q-Tape instead of basting. Sew right sides together leaving six-inch opening. Sew opening closed. Attach five spectacular buttons and make buttonholes. Sew on six-inch bullion fringe. |
